Yesterday we introduced our new virtue for March: Courage – Having the guts to do what is right. Through the story of David and Goliath, the kids learned to “Be brave because God is with you“. In small group the Kindergarten and 1st Graders actually got to take a swipe at Goliath using rubber bands and pom pom balls! (Yes, we DID throw out the idea of having the small group leader be Goliath, but, decided we LOVE our leaders and want you to feel the same about us!) Anyone have any fun stories to share?
Large Group
It was a gravity-defying morning on Sunday, as our storytellers (and some hosts) climbed ladders onstage to show how tall Goliath was. It was practically Cirque du Soleil! For the intro, the host asked the kids some things they were afraid of… and the consensus seems to be snakes, spiders and tornadoes. The storyteller told all about David and Goliath, and how David wasn’t scared because he knew God had protected him as a shepherd from the lion and the bear. By the end of the program, we learned that even with things that are scary, you can be brave because God is with you. Worship songs were “Never Gonna Let Me Go” and “My Rock.”

My funny story of the day: In the Warehouse during the 9am hour, Andy (host) was asking the kids to name things they are afraid of. One kid yells out “Matthew Stafford”!! Turns out it was a 2nd grade boy wearing a Florida sweatshirt. Anyone know how we can get this story to Mark Richt? I think he would get a kick out of it!!
That was my Alex!! I love that kid to pieces.
Ha ha – love it Anna!!
